Purchased this line and was able to install with out any complications. Instructions were easy to follow and guided some tensioning well.Works well for drying linens and clothing. Used it to dry some garlic too! Multipurpose use.We had a similar item installed at our home but it was old and non-functional. We were able to mount this one on the existing hardware. It functions wonderfully! Easy to use and the lock feature works perfectly! Highly recommend!I like how it can be tucked away when not in use. It’s convenient cause it’s just a pull away. Yet some of the strings just don’t seem to hold taught. So if they could figure out that little issue then I would love it!This time the knob on the left side stripped out. I think there was more plastic involved than previously, but don't know for sure. Two of the lines have also started coming apart. I restrung the first one but wasn't satisfied with the result, so I am not considering that this time. I guess $10 a year for a solar clothes dryer is ok.My dryer broke so I decided to hang my clothes outside! I also have my adult daughter, my adult Grand son too, and 2great grandkids 12 and 8 so you can imagine the laundry, but this holds so much and its so sturdy! I definitely recommend this even if your dryer isn't broken, just for the fresh smell of drying outside!!I love my clothesline. It’s easy to put up and useReplaced old one that was used for over 25 years -- same manufacturer. The old one was made better (made in USA of steel) and stood up to the weather well in the Chicago area. New one made with plastic parts and now says to remove from mounting and store in garage when not in use. Probably plastic parts get brittle after too much exposure to sunlight? It does a fine job like the old "metal" one though.UPDATE: I added a couple of stars now that I've had the clothesline in use for a few weeks. All of the original review (below) still applies, but I like the functionality. I wanted a clothesline that I could retract after each use--NOT seasonally. It's kind of a hassle to extend it 15 feet, and walk back 15 feet to turn the locking knob before hanging clothes. Then, when laundry is dry and down, it's the same hassle in reverse. For me, being able to make clotheslines more or less disappear between uses is worth it, so Four Stars it is.The build quality on this retractable clothesline seems decent, although I'm leery of the plastic keyhole mounting brackets that the whole washload is going to depend on. The instructions are some of the worst I've seen. I'm a pretty handy homeowner, but the tiny, blurred drawings, small white-on-black font, and tri-lingual text were inadequate. I fumbled around more than you'd think possible on a simple installation involving only 4 bolts. It's impossible to mark pilot holes directly through the mounting brackets, so you have to measure a LOT. One-eighth inch off, and you will not be able to hang the unit. Trust me: four wrong holes in the siding of my house now attest to this difficulty.Note the measurements before buying: this thing is huge. The main unit (where the clotheslines roll up) needs a minimum of 34 horizontal inches of wall or surface to mount, PLUS a few inches of clearance beyond that, left and right, to operate the tighten and release knobs. The metal receiving bracket (the bit that goes on the far wall to hold the extended clotheslines in place) doesn't actually accept the bar when bolted flush to its surface--there isn't enough room and you will have to improvise. Note that for anyone much under six feet tall (I'm 5'10") all of this will be happening while you're on a ladder.Adjustments to the tautness of the individual lines are so cryptic and hard to reach that I haven't succeeded yet. It's up, I've got a few clothes hanging on it, and it's not awful, but the difficult installation and adjustment process has been a real star-subtracter.Estuve buscando varias opciones de tendedero para exterior y decidí probar este. Trae todo el kit de instalación que hace muy sencillo colocarlo en la pared. He colgado varias cargas de ropa al mismo tiempo e incluso edredones y aguanta perfecto. Como es acero inoxidable, no le pasa nada con la lluvia. Las tiras del tendedero vienen protegidas con una especie de plástico que lo hace muy resistente. Sacarlo y guardarlo te toma menos de un minuto. Lo recomiendo!!Hello, I bought this Retractable clothesline 5 wire recently. I received the item delivery on time. The tension of the wires do not remain the same after tightening and it sags even without any cloth. If I try to dry a cloth it sags to the ground. Absolutely not happy with this product.I had a similar clothesline before and it was so good I used for 10 years. This one, is not very efficient. Will not recommend as it is waste of money. Very strong and easy to set up.Can be set up anywhere inside or out.Way more drying line than my old umbrella style.2 year updatePlastic mounting bracket broke on one sideHad to repair with metal strapping and tie wrapsStill usable and worth the $45 I paid in July of 2013If I get another 2 years out of it I will be happy
