This premium Absinthe set has the perfect accessories for your personal Heure Verte. All of the accessories are authentic reproductions of vintage originals. The included Absinthe glasses are an original reproduction of the famous "Pontarlier" Absinthe glasses from the Belle Époque era. Made by ALANDIA Barware they are of high-quality mouth-blown instead of industrially pressed glass. Therefore no disturbing manufacturing seams are presents. The glasses have a reservoir in the stem to measure just the right amount of Absinthe (1 oz.). Like former originals they are nicely cut to give them a premium and nostalgic look. Overall, the ALANDIA Absinthe glasses are the epitome of an original Absinthe glass. They are world renowned after being featured in a painting made by Charles Maire for the most popular Absinthe brand of the 19th century, Pernod Fils. You can see the original painting in the photo gallery. The Absinthe accessories set is complete with four high-quality stainless steel Absinthe spoons, as well authentic copies of a historical Absinthe spoon. One bag of individually wrapped Absinthe sugar cubes as well as a card with information about the traditional Absinthe ritual complete this beautiful Absinthe accessories set. NOTE: We want to bring to attention, that the Pontarlier Absinthe glasses are handmade. This means, that every glass is unique. It does not come out of a mold, therefore each glass can vary a bit in shape and thickness of the material used. How to serve Absinthe: You need an Absinthe glass, an Absinthe spoon, sugar cubes and ice cold water for the traditional Absinthe ritual. This is how it works: First, Absinthe is put into the Absinthe glass (1 oz.). Then you place the Absinthe spoon on the rim of the glass, put a sugar cube on top and slowly add water. The Absinthe in the glass blends with water and magically louches from green to an opalescent white color. Finally you stir the Absinthe with the spoon and voilá, your sugared Absinthe is prepared! The perfect Absinthe / water ratio is 1:3. Preparing Absinthe the traditional way is a real experience! The ALANDIA Absinthe Accessories Set Absinthe Glass: Original Design The set includes 4 ALANDIA Absinthe glasses "Pontarlier". They are the epitome of an original Absinthe glass. The glass design is world renowned after being featured in a painting made by Charles Maire for the most popular Absinthe of the 19th century, Pernod Fils. You can see the original painting in the photo gallery. The Pontarlier glass has a reservoir in the stem to measure the correct amount of Absinthe. Like former originals it is nicely cut, to give it a premium and nostalgic look. Absinthe Glasses: The History The Pontarlier Absinthe glasses got their fame through a Pernod Fils advertisement from the 19th century. The artwork decorated French bistros at the time of the Belle Époque. Absinthe Spoon: Stainless Steel The set includes as well 4 ALANDIA Absinthe spoons "Feuilles". The Feuilles Absinthe spoons have the same design as vintage originals. It is nicely decorated with wormwood leaves in the front. The spoons are made of high-quality stainless steel and are polished for a supreme finish and to prevent sharp edges. The spoons are as well dishwasher-safe for easy handling. The inscription "Absinthe Superieure - l'Heure Verte - Demandez un ALANDIA" underlines it's historical roots. + Absinthe Sugar Cubes The set includes as well a large bag of individually wrapped Absinthe sugar cubes. The ALANDIA Absinthe sugar cubes are less pressed than regular sugar cubes. Therefore they dissolve better during the Absinthe ritual. They are nicely packed in a brown paper bag. The bag comes with a clip for easy resealing. Overall these sugar cubes drive your Absinthe preparation to perfection. + Absinthe Manual for the right preparation Drinking Absinthe is an experience, especially if you prepare it the right way. The set includes a card where the traditional Absinthe ritual is explained in easy steps. Despite popular belief, Absinthe is not set on fire. This fire ritual is actually a modern invention and we do not recommend it at all. It destroys the fine flavor of quality Absinthe, is dangerous and historically inauthentic. The traditional French way of serving Absinthe is with ice cold water and a sugar cube. Enjoy and santé (French for cheers)! It's time for real Absinthe! l'Heure Verte, the Green Hour Santé!
