I purchased these boots a month ago. I've worn many different brands of work boots as I have been in construction for 15 years. I did an ABSURD amount research on work boots recently. I was looking for composite toe boots as I prefer them to steel toe (more comfortable and toes won't freeze off in the winter). I previously had two pairs of Wolverine Durashocks, which I really liked as far as comfort goes, but they just didn't hold up to the intense work conditions I endure (masonry, facade restorations). I looked into Irish Setters, Redwings, ECT. I didn't want to shell out $250+ for work boots. I came across the Iron Age brand and checked out their web site. Seemed legit, but I was very skeptical as I had never heard of them. But for the price, I figured I would give them a try. When the boots arrived, I immediately noticed the solid construction of them. The lace hooks on the uppers of the boots are the strongest I have ever seen. I have had lace hooks on multiple pairs of boots break on me, so this is a plus. The leather seemed very tough. The soles seem very durable as well. Wearing these boots the first day on the job was less than pleasant. My feet were killing me! (I recommend breaking them in by wearing them a little at a time before a full day's work) But over the course of the first 3 days, they started breaking in and became much more comfortable. After a week of work, they feel great. They're not as comfortable as the Durashocks, but not too far off. As far as durability goes, like I said, I beat the crap out of boots with the worst elements to leather (concrete/concrete dust). So far they seem to be holding up just fine, but time will tell. I do feel like they will hold up over time, though. My final thoughts on these boots are that I would definitely recommend them if you're looking for a solid yet comfortable work boot as a solid price. Just remember, like many other boots; beware of the break-in period! I will update down the road on how these boots held up.I just received these boots and wore them for a couple hours. They fit well, look to be very well made and look good. I am a troubleshooter in the manufacturering industry and am on my feet for about 10 to 12 hours a day, so these boots will be heavily tested.I plan to revise my review in a month or so as these boots break in, but so far, I am very impressed.I bought these boots for my SO since he’s a landscaper and look what they did! He’s been wearing them for two weeks and he’s gotten nothing but blisters. The boots fit great, not tight and not big but they’re causing blisters on his heel. I know some shoes have to be broken in, but this is absolutely unacceptable!!!!! He’s on his feet 8 hours a day and this is what they do after 2 weeks! This shouldn’t happen. They’re expensive boots and you’d think you’d get great quality for $150 boots! My son loved these boots, but they gave him blisters on his feet. Returned.
