The all black mesh is hard to see without a reflective boarderIt’s not very sturdy. It’s easy to just pull down the middle part and crawl over or lift up the bottom and crawl under. I just moved it to my back yard to try with the dogs and they just walk underneath it no problem.Great product. Does what it is supposed to (at least in my opinion). However, some minor issues.1. the stakes that drive into the ground are hollow tubes. This is because the posts of the driveway guard slide into the hollow tubes. It's a simple cheap solution, but if you have rocky root infested clay soil like i do, you will NEVER be able to drive the PVC pipe into the ground. I had to dig a hole and then back fill.2. The mesh is thin. It certainly has held it's shape when extended, but buyer beware, it's virtually invisible. I almost drove right through it a couple of times! As a result, I place safety cones across the span so that the barrier is visible to others.3. As a PHYSICAL deterrent, it's not going to do much. This not a knock on the product, but just realize that a mesh that stretches 25' is not going to be particularly strong. If person/child runs into it, likely the mesh will collapse. I don't trust my toddler to be alone in the vicinity of the driveway guard because he can slip under, or just push it down (and probably walk over it if he leans into it enough).Overall, though, I still use it. And it's a great temporary option vs something more permanent like fencing/gates.Reviewing after one day. So far it appears to be well built, though I wonder how the mesh will hold up under continuous outdoor use. I like that the in ground pipes are just standard schedule 40 PVC. Quality choice, made in the USA, easily customized and replaced. It's easy to use, and the black version looks pretty good. One star off because I think the top and bottom could be made semi-rigid, which would keep things from going under (like my smallest dog), and look neater.Regarding the retraction mechanism, which I've seen complaints about. It works fine. It says it is designed to go slow, for safety, but it also requires you to keep it aligned to retract properly. Ever roll up wrapping paper? The slightest misalignment causes it to walk up or down the roll. Same with this (that's physics, for you!), but it is actually pretty forgiving, and once you see it happening, just adjust and move on. Same star off because in making it semi-rigid, you could also make it guide the roll in.I would recommend it.I used this to wrap around my porch to keep my dog in. Very easy to use.It is a good product. We have been using for a month now on a daily basis. I few things I will mention about the product:1. When reviewing which one we wanted, the 25' or the 18', I am glad we went with the 25'. It does not extend fully to 25' but closer to 21 or 22.2. Be cautious when rolling up, I can see how other reviewers could break retactable springs. You cannot just let it go, you need to carefully have it roll back up.3. The top does sag after repeated use. I knew this coming in based on our friends have one. When planning the location, I put it close to our lamp post if I need to use a bungee cord in the future to pull it tight.4. IMPORTANT - the black is very hard to see. It is not like the mesh on a snow fence, rather a very fine mesh. We use a bright orange cone which has helped people not trip over it or drive into it.It keeps my 2 year old away from the street and her toys away from rolling down the driveway. It doesn’t stay taunt and drops in the middleI was looking for a easy to install and take down barrier to put at the end of our driveway to keep the dog from wondering off. He is NOT a determined dog to get out and that's a good thing. This is not a very sturdy/thick type of roll up netting. When stretched out to its fullest it does get a little flimsy, but it still holds a decent shape as you would expect. It would be easy for a pet or child to get under the netting, so as the description says, this is NOT to be used as a security type of device. Can't seem to get it to stay up right ...Possibly doing it wrong ... But keeps coming down ...Very expensive if it does not work ...Will write new review if I can work it !!Perfect for across the drivewayNo worth the price,Works well and keeps kids’ toys from rolling onto the street from the driveway. Takes a little effort to ensure it rolls back up evenly. The net does go across but isn't very tight when extended, also does not retract back in very well gets bundled up and doesn't go all the way back.
