I thought this shoe was going to give me a soft recoil when I took steps. Complete opposite. Heal isPlastic and hard as a rock. I will send them back. I feel like my back and legs would suffer severely if I wore these a whole day at work.The last pair of Timberland Steel Toe boots I had fit like a glove and were SO COMFORTABLE! They didn’t even have a “breaking in” time! THIS pair, however, is NOT comfortable at all!! Rubs my heels raw and hurts my ankles. Will have to wear for a Long Time to “break in” good, and be comfortable. As for tread—walks up and down anything! Great traction! Even walked down a steep red clay hill that I normally slip and slide on. Haven’t tested the waterproofing yet. Will give update in a month or so.Love the boot but I thought the boot was true to size based on reviews so I got 8.5 but they feel a little big, I wish I got a half size smaller (sz. 8) but I wore them for a day so I probably can’t trade :(Well made but definitely not made wide.
