With this glass, the great full-bodied wines from Burgundy to Bordeaux can unfold their full potential. Not only do its voluptuous curves visually compliment the voluminous body of great wines, both red and white, its pointed conical base also ensures that the complex play of colours may underline the full-bodied depth of the content.
Our Josephine No 3 is designed for complex red and white wines, that thanks to its shape have the chance to develop in a unique way.
Designed by Kurt Josef Zalto in 2019.
Handmade in Europe.
Height 24 cm (9.4"), diameter 8.5 cm (3,3“).
A soft linen cloth and a watercolour brush are the best things for taking care of your glasses. The Josephinenhütte glasses are also dishwasher suitable.
If you are reading this review, you are contemplating purchasing wine glasses that cost $85 each. First, well done! You must have done something right to be here entertaining such an extravagant purchase. Second, please consider how fortunate you are, thank God, and find a good charity to support that may help others attain the success you have found. Finally, the review:These glasses are the best I have ever used. They are even better than the standard Zalto glasses. The odd look to these glasses is caused by an enlargement toward the bottom of the bowl that allows you to swirl the wine vigorously without the slightest concern of spilling it. That opens the wine up beautifully and presents the aromas at the top of the bowl in a way I have not experienced before. The base of the bowl extends downward into the handle, which creates a very cool looking diamond of red at the base when the glass is full. This red diamond is very very very cool looking. The thin rim gives an ideal feel to you lips when sipping, and adds to the wonderful experience you will have drinking wine from these glasses.I want to try to convince you that these glasses are worth the price. If you are reading this (still) you must enjoy fine quality wines. Such wines are expensive. Depending on your taste, you will notice that a nice bottle of Quintessa is $200. A bottle of any St. Julian Bordeaux will set you back $100-$400. A quality Gaja Nebbiolo can fetch $600. Some Pauillacs go into the thousands of dollars. If you are going to drink such wines, for God's sake, spend the extra $85 dollars for the proper vessel to complete the experience. Even if the glasses are fragile (they are) you will use them over and over before you make a mistake and break them. Even when drinking $30-$75 wines, these will enhance your experience--over and over again. So here is what I recommend: Buy these glasses today. Donate to your favorite charity. Have dinner with someone you love. Cook a rack of lamb. Pour your favorite wine--maybe one you have been saving for a while (I recommend a St. Julien). And toast your good fortune while enjoying the most amazing glasses ever made. You will be sure to get questions as to where and who makes these. A little taller than most of my other wine glasses. These glasses are super thin and super light. We consider them our special wine glasses. One month in and we haven’t broken them yet! These are beautifully crafted glasses that deserve careful attention. These are not for wild dinner parties with careless guests. Their inherent beauty and grace lift even ordinary wine to unsuspected heights. Savour every drop, marvel at the elegance and enjoy the experience. These are right up there with the nicest glasses you can buy. Ive got all the top brands including zalto and others and these are great. Unique design and large glass are both functional and design forwardThese wine glasses are gorgeous! Beautiful hand blown lead free crystal. Kurt Zalto's design is functional art; elegant, regal, form driven by function. It makes wine more aromatic and taste better. I have compared these glasses to many other wine glasses including Reidel and the original Zalto crystal. It is better than Reidel, no comparison. Red wine is more open and accessible due to Kurt Zalto's Josephine design. You can smell and taste the difference. The original Zalto wine glasses are fantastic but I think these look and perform a little better. The original Zalto and the Josephine wine glasses are by far the best wine glasses I have ever used. If you love fine wine you must try these glasses. These glasses are simply stunning. When they arrive, the box is so light it feels like there's nothing in it. It's amazing how thin the glass is, especially since they are hand blown. Just incredibly elegant. My son bought these and had them at Xmas. I’m very much into wine and glassware. I bought 4. These are really beautiful and amazingly sturdy. Highly recommended.Pleasure to hold! They are nice and have an unusual form but are extremely fragile. I was cleaning them and by pressing it with some strength to clean it...it broke! It did not even touch anywhere. For the expensive price...wouldn't buy again! Wunderbar!!!
