100% Leather Imported Rubber sole Slip and oil-resistant non-marking rubber exceeds the ASTM F2913-11 slip resistance ASTM F2413-11 CSA and EN 200 approved composite safety toe LENZI non-metallic L-Protection anti-penetration board keeps your feet safe from puncture dangers with pre-treated ceramic and high tenacity fibers Airport friendly nylon shank for lightweight support and fatigue control Ortholite insole featuring open-cell technology provides comfort that will not diminish over time
COMFORTABLE UPPER: The Original S.W.A.T. boots feature a rugged upper made from a combination of suede leather and Cordura 1000 denier nylon. This blend provides enhanced durability and comfort, making these boots ideal for the demanding conditions faced by department-specialty officers. The Cordura fabric is known for its resistance to abrasions, tears, and scuffs.
YKK SIDE-ZIPPER: Equipped with a YKK side-zipper in a durable Vislon pattern, these unisex leather shoes offer easy on and off access. The side-zipper is complemented by a hook and loop tab-stay closure, which keeps the zipper securely in place during use. This feature allows officers to quickly put on and remove their boots without compromising on fit or security.
COMFORT AND PROTECTION: The foam-padded collar and tongue provide added protection and increased breathability, ensuring maximum comfort throughout long shifts. The black leather shoes also feature a gusseted tongue that prevents dirt and debris from entering, keeping the interior clean and comfortable. Additionally, the Scotchgard treatment protects the suede from spills and stains, maintaining the boots' appearance and extending their lifespan.
CUSHIONING AND SUPPORT: Designed for all-day wear, the Original S.W.A.T. tactical boots for women include a removable custom fit EVA insole and a custom-molded phylon EVA midsole. These components offer lightweight comfort and cradled support, reducing foot fatigue during extended periods of use. The steel shank provides superior support, enhancing stability and reducing strain on the feet and legs.
LATERAL SUPPORT: The work boots feature a stitched heel and toe for increased durability and a longer service life. The custom-molded thermoplastic heel counter and toe box offer instant comfort and lateral support, ensuring that the boots provide a secure and supportive fit right out of the box. These reinforcements help maintain the structural integrity of the boots, providing reliable performance in demanding environments.
These are my second pair of these reinforced boots, and the third pair of the S.W.A.T. brand 9" side zipper boots. I bought my first pair after being impressed by the side zipper - put them on with the laces loose, zip up the boot, then tighten the laces to fit the ankle - and I didn't have to tie them ever again. Comfortable? Yes. Durable? Yes. My first pair of these boots lasted 1 year, 5 months and 23 days. I wore them every day, all day in light duty environments: office, factory floor, store and home. After 540 days of constant use, I finally had to replace them because the side separated from the sole. The per day cost worked out to just under 13 and a half cents a day.Negatives? Not to me but maybe you need to know: The ASTM F2413 compliant safety toe is not steel, its composite. In addition to protecting the toes from crushing weight, the boots feature a non-metallic textile insert made of multiple layers of high tenacity fibers - which tells me if I step on a nail, I'll be protected, but I better not jump on a nail.I must make mention of the zipper function - and potential fail mode. From my experience: The zipper slide has a lock mechanism that prevents unwanted zipper slide. The lock mechanism defaults to locked. It's release by the pull of the zipper's tab. If you take your fingers and try to move the slide WITHOUT using the pull tab, the slide won't move. Good design. However, the pull tab is the weak link in the design - after daily use for a year, the metal on the tab fatigued and broke. Suddenly I had a boot that would no longer zip because the slide lock defaults to locked. Time to buy new boots?? NOPE. My key chain has a bunch of the thin gauge wire loops, the kind you have to spread to slide a key on. Perfect fit on the boot slide and it released the locking function when pulled. I then added a new, heavy duty pull tab to the loop I attached to the zipper slide (fabric stores carry replacement zipper pull tabs) - and I had a good as new zipper slide and my boots were operational again.Word to the wise. SO, when I bought my replacement boots, the first thing I tried with a critical eye was the ease of zipper slide. Turns out one boots zipper was binding - which could have meant that the slide's lock mechanism was faulty. SO I immediately took advantage of Amazon's return/replacement policy, sent back the pair with the binding zipper slide, and just received the replacement boots - which have checked out A-OK.
