Allison Transmission 29540479 Neutral Safety Backup Switch - Replacement for Trucks & Heavy Equipment - Ensures Smooth Gear Shifting & Reverse Light Function

I bought this transmission neutral safety switch on April 16th, August 4th it failed and left me stranded. Of course, it's out of the return window. Now I have to jump through hoops and wait on the phone and hope for a replacement. Amazon and Allison should have a better process for this. First time I've been disappointed in an Allison product. For a $278 switch, it should last as long as the original (23 years) and at least should have an easy online replacement.
