At first I loved the sling. But today one of the top straps slipped off the top bar when I was transferring to wheelchair and down I went on my 3 day old (non-weight bearing) splint after an ankle replacement. I cannot say this strongly enough. The straps have to be secured either by velcro wraps (I don't care if its duct tape.)I am not going to know for a week (drove from WY for this surgery, staying at a hotel near Mayo) until my stitches come out and and they do an MRI if I damaged my Surgery location but I am very shoulder sore and pulled muscles in my neck and back that I won't know about til tomorrow. My surgery foot hit the floor hard enough I can feel it in the ball of my foot. This is no joke it's for your safefty. The picture and walker on the page should be changed. Another heartfelt suggestion is put memory foam in the knee place. Otherwise I'm glad I have it. One more thing.. I put a towell where my knee goes because the plastic pad is hard and rough. SueI have been using this device now for 3 weeks post foot/ankle surgery. The platform allows you to rest your affected leg, and can be used both while rolling forward with the walker (a little dicey, but it works), or just when you're standing still. Nowhere near as fast as a knee scooter, but considerably more stable than crutches--and you get that resting position, which is nice. It's important to check the position of the straps before each use, as these can slide off the handles pretty easily. You don't want that to happen during use.I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 simply because it's a little bit trickier to use than the walker alone, and there is the potential for mishap. Nevertheless, this is an intuitive and useful addition to the walker for those who need to be non-weight-bearing on one leg.Broken ankle. Non weight bearing for 2-3 months. I thought this was a good idea BUT, it took forever to fit the sling to the walker. Once that was accomplished I tried it out and found the sling bumped into my good leg whenever I took a step. I found the sling complicated. Decided to return it... "This item isn't eligible for return." That means I'm out $85.46. Of course, the item is "currently unavailable" so I can't double check the small print. This was the first issue I have ever had shopping on Amazon. I guess there's a first time for everything! :PUpdate July 16. I contacted Amazon regarding the "not eligible for return" for this item. They were able to contact the store. Long story short, the company issued a return label and once it was delivered I received a prompt refund. Happy senior ?It is not the fault of the Knee Sling. I am sure it is working fine. I cannot use it comfortably with either of my two walkers. One walker will not support the full weight of my right side (I weigh 180#). The other walker has a fold up platform for sitting that will not stay folded up. I also find my movement is almost as restricted as without the support of my knee. I have a knee rover that works much better for me. It is really a matter of personal preference. For this Sling, shipping was fast and it was packed well. I was not able to open most of the clamps myself, due to arthritis, but my husband was able to. Together we had the sling installed in about ten minutes or less. On the one walker, like the one pictured, I could hardly get it to move, so ended up hopping along anyway. The other walker has four wheels, and it moved, quite well, but the seat was continually falling in the way. It also did not feel as solid and stable as I like. I decided to keep working with my knee pony (kneel on roller). My husband had a total ankle replacement and needed to stay off his foot for at least 4 weeks. He tried crutches but didn't feel secure. The walker felt more stable, but with one foot, he was hopping all the time. Not good. The sling attaches easily. After his surgery, he had the techs at the hospital adjust it for his height. The sling bears much of the weight and there is no fear he would put his foot down on the floor. The sling is made of sturdy material and adjusts easily.I received my knee sling today. Attached it to a walker I purchased at Goodwill for $7. It works wonders. I practice using it before my foot surgery in two weeks. Its soft and stay in places. I could actually hop around on one foot with out the slings but the sling makes it easier and allows me to rest my leg if needed. The walker holds up to 300 lbs . I guess it depends on the strength of the walker too. UPDATE: (6/24/19) After using for 1 week I had to put a small pillow on it because it started to hurt my knee/ front leg. Other than that its a life saver. Use a pillow in the being and you will be fine.If not for this sling, there's no way I'd be able to leave the hospital to recover at home!Came in handy the first 2 weeks after foot surgery. But once I got a smaller cast my knee scooter worked better for me.
